Serving in the Armed Forces is like being part of a big family. In service we stand together, supporting each other no matter what.

But for some military personnel, leaving service and returning to civilian life can be tough. Problems once shared as a team, become darker problems battled alone. Navigating a new life can be challenging. Needing to find your feet, isolating.

But no matter how dark their challenges, at SSAFA, we will be their unit.

We seek to reach and embrace all our military family, so they never battle alone. With welfare and wellbeing support for those who need us.

But we can’t do it without you.

In our new advert, we’ve used an actor to bring to life the experience that some veterans face. But this is just one scenario. Every experience is different. Watch our video, or listen to our radio spot, and then scroll down to find about some of the real stories behind the advert.

Some only need SSAFA for a single conversation.

Others need longer term support, help lifting them out of the crippling effects of isolation, homelessness, addiction, hopelessness.

But for the men and women who pledged to serve our nation, we will be their backup.
