Supercar spectacle to set off from Folkestone
09 August 2022
Tomorrow, Wednesday 10 August, 50 cars and 100 participants will set off from the Eurotunnel, Folkestone, to start their 3,000 mile journey around Europe in Rally for Heroes’ event in aid of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
United by a love of cars and a desire to support our Armed Forces, participants will drive five miles for every fallen hero since the start of the campaign in Afghanistan. The Rally takes place over 10 days, visits 10 countries and has currently raised more than £150,000 for SSAFA this year, bringing the total since 2014 to more than £500,000! The money raised from the Rally is used to help service personnel and their families who have experienced life changing circumstances as a result of the conflict.
Steve Shaw, Director of Operations for Rally for Heroes, says: “This is the fifth event I have been involved with and we’re all excited to begin the 2022 event. There is nothing that beats the Rally family, once you have completed the event it really gets into your blood. The whole team is driven by wanting to support serving personnel, veterans and their families and SSAFA is a great charity that does exactly that.”
