The VCJS Support Service offers assistance to members of the Armed Forces community who find themselves caught up at any stage of the Criminal Justice System, and their families. We support serving and ex-serving personnel, reservists, National Service veterans and anyone who has received at least one day's pay from the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines or the Royal Air Force.
SSAFA's in-reach volunteers are trained in all aspects of working within the CJS. They can visit clients in prison to assess need and provide emotional and practical advice throughout the sentence and post release; this may include accommodation, clothing, benefits claims, employment etc.
If you or someone you know is currently serving a custodial or community sentence, SSAFA may be able to help. Get in touch by:
- Contacting your local SSAFA Regional Hub (please see details in the sidebar).
- Contacting your local SSAFA branch: enter your postcode into our our branch finder here.
- Calling Forcesline on 0800 260 6767.
We provide holistic, non-judgemental support, no matter what the circumstances.
